Chet Williamson meets Michael Moorcock…and audiobooks ensue…

I’ve been fortunate enough to be asked to record not only audiobooks of my own work for Crossroad Press and Springbook Audio, but the work of some other writers as well. I’m proud to announce that the first of these projects is now available: Michael Moorcock’s unabridged Blood: A Southern Fantasy.

This is the first of three books in the “Second Ether” trilogy, Michael Moorcock’s astonishing journey though volatile matter and corrupted time – a phantasmagoric excursion to the death of the old multiverse…and the birth of the new.

I’ve finished recording the second, Fabulous Harbours, and will soon start the final volume, The War Amongst the Angels. These are wonderful and indescribable books, drawing from the various mythologies and fiction cycles Moorcock has created over the decades, with a vast array of characters. I’ve never recorded anything more challenging, and only hope that I’ve been doing them justice.

I was thrilled to find that there was an Elric/Stormbringer story in the second volume, since one of my happiest childhood memories is discovering the albino prince in “Kings in Darkness,” published in L. Sprague deCamp’s anthology, The Spell of Seven, and being forever captivated by this brooding character.

Blood is an eight-hour unabridged reading, available as a downloadable MP3 at the pre-release price of $12.99. Buy it here
